This was my first attempt at a house completely outside my comfort zone. I’m normally very into my modern style builds (though they seem somewhat distinctly sparkley modern builds) and wanted to challenge myself a bit so I decided to go BEACHY! Going back through all the pictures of the lots in order to put them up here on wordpress has actually made me realise just how much I like this house and how much better it is than I originally thought it was. I’m really happy with how the cream of whitewashed, sea battered wood came out and the slightly more muted tones of green and blue in the main living areas really say “seaside” to me. I’m especially pleased with the landscaping, as at first I didn’t really know what to use to give it a beach side feel but in the end decided to go with gorsery type plants (since those seem to be what grows around most beach sides that I’ve visted). I think the stones on the pathway also help give it a more beach like feel. There were a lot of tips and tricks in here inspired by other people (like the stone pathway and the wicker plant pots) so thankyou to everyone who helped create this house!
